Barling’s roots go all the way back to 1812, when Benjamin Barling established the family business in London. Originally renowned for silverwork and meerschaum fittings, Barling eventually became one of the most respected names in English briar.
By the early 20th century Barling was producing its own bowls in England, building a reputation for beautifully balanced traditional shapes, superb stems and exceptionally well-seasoned briar.
The legendary Family Era lasted until 1962, and those pipes remain among the most collectible English estates around. Names like Ye Olde Wood, Fossil, Guinea Grain and Straight Grain still carry serious weight with Barling collectors today.
Barling wasn’t just another English factory marque. At its peak, this was top-shelf London pipe making — old wood, proper craftsmanship and more than a century of family tradition behind the name.
A genuine heavyweight of English pipe history.

I combine shipping on orders over $40 in the continental US, just ask!
Measurements available upon request.
My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
