Well, hell—this is the kind of pipe you clear a spot for at the head of the table. An S. Bang by Per Hansen is grail territory, and this asymmetrical freehand came dressed for the occasion. Rich, fiery grain rolls across the polished briar, meeting a rugged, dark-textured face with enough character to stop you mid-scroll. That sweeping shank and long, lean stem pull the whole sculpture together. Every angle gives you something worth staring at.
Hansen helped put S. Bang among the royalty of Danish handmade pipes, and pieces like this tell you why. Bold shaping, beautiful balance, and a presence that commands the whole damn rack. If you’ve been waiting for a serious Danish showpiece, saddle up—this one belongs on the short list.
The grade stamp is faint, believed to be 8, though 6 remains possible. Either way, this is one hell of a Bang.
Professionally restored. Stem is 9/10. Come and take it.

I combine shipping on orders over $40 in the continental US, just ask!
Measurements available upon request.
My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
