Stanwell is the brand that made Danish pipes a global category. Founded in 1942 by Poul Nielsen, Stanwell was the first to export Danish pipes at scale, deliberately bridging English tradition with emerging Danish design. That move changed the market.
Stanwell wasn’t chasing art pieces. It was building reliable, well-engineered smokers with softened proportions and clean drilling, and it did so with real design input from people like Sixten Ivarsson, whose influence shaped the Danish aesthetic without turning it into freehand excess. For decades, pipes were made in Denmark (Borup), and that era is why vintage Stanwells still carry respect.

My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion
