Some pipes deserve a double take. This one deserves a slow whistle and a “son of a bitch.”
Teipen’s signature Applefish brings together the broad, rounded fullness of a tomato and the sculptural attitude of a blowfish. That dramatic fin rising beside the bowl gives it a silhouette you can pick out across the room—and the slender, sweeping stem makes the whole composition sing.
Then there’s that ring grain blast. Tight ripples wrap the bowl, with grain climbing the fin and a rich reddish-brown finish giving every ridge its moment in the light. There’s a whole lot to admire packed into those curves.
Wayne Teipen earned his reputation through painstaking engineering and an eye for the smallest details. He also helped Nate King develop his craft, sharing his workshop and hard-earned knowledge. The man knows his way around a block of briar. (thepipeguys.com, natekingpipes.com)
Unsmoked, unmistakable, and sporting enough attitude to wear spurs to a black-tie dinner. This is Teipen putting his signature style front and center.

Measurements available upon request.
My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
