This is Plum Pudding with the volume turned up and then aged in a damn barrel just to make sure you don’t forget it. Same core—Latakia, Orientals, Virginias, Perique, Cavendish—but this version gets finished in a VSOP cognac barrel, and they literally drop a piece of the barrel stave in the tin so it keeps working on the leaf the whole time it sits. That’s not gimmick—that’s active aging.
Out of the gate, you get that thick Plum Pudding body—smoky, spicy, a little sweet—but it’s deeper here, darker, with this boozy, oaky edge riding over the top. Think stewed fruit, warm spice, and that soft cognac note baked into the smoke instead of sprayed on it. The Latakia still brings the campfire, the Orientals keep it sharp, but the barrel aging rounds everything out and adds weight without turning it into a syrup bomb.
What makes this one hit is the density—this is a slow, heavy crumble that just keeps stacking flavor. And those early runs? That’s when it still had that raw edge, before anything got toned down. Between the barrel aging, the stave in the tin, and the limited seasonal runs, you’re looking at something that was never meant to be common and definitely not meant to stick around.
This isn’t regular Plum Pudding.
This is Plum Pudding with time, wood, and booze working on it behind the scenes.
The kind of blend you open once, realize what it is, and then wish you had three more tins sitting behind it.
Between you and me, I priced this one high cause if it doesnt sell, I’ll buy it myself on Christmas ten years from now and smoke the hell out of it
2022, 50g tin factory sealed, well stored
