Portland was one of those quiet Danish workshop marques that came out of the late-60s boom when everyone in Copenhagen seemed to be shaping briar. They were never chasing prestige — just turning out honest, well-cut pipes with the same clean shaping and satin finishes that made Danish design famous. You’ll see the influence of Stanwell and Kriswill all over them, but with a simpler, working-class feel — think of it as the everyday Danish pipe for folks who wanted the look without the price tag.
They smoke beautifully when you find a good one: light, balanced, and usually cut from surprisingly solid briar for the price. Portland never made headlines, but they earned respect the right way — in hand, not in hype. Stem is 9/10. Come and take it.

My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus UPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion
